Terminology: AI and the Law

“AI” and the law are two areas ripe with jargon about detailed concepts that people rarely explain in non-technical language.

Here at Karmanline we believe that all concepts are understandable by anyone at some level of usefulness—and if you truly want to understand something, teach it!

That’s why we are compiling our own definitions for the terminology we most commonly hear and read in the context of "AI", the law, entertainment, and creative industries. We want to understand them ourselves in sufficient detail that we can confidently comprehend their implications, critique them, and discuss them with customers, partners and other stakeholders throughout the industry.

We publish them in two tables, one listing Technical Terms (121 of them at the time of posting), and one of Legal Terms (a further 28 terms). You can view them on our website, search within the tables, and even download them.
